Data Engineer

What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer at NBI Games, you’ll help build and support the systems that power our data-driven work. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, analysts, and game teams to ensure our telemetry pipelines, data tools, and infrastructure are reliable and performant. Your work will help unlock critical insights for game design, live ops, and player understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure

  • Work on batch and real-time processing systems for analytics and telemetry

  • Support data ingestion, transformation, and storage using modern tools

  • Collaborate with analysts and developers to deliver clean, well-structured data

  • Implement monitoring and alerting for data systems to ensure reliability

  • Help document data flows and processes for internal stakeholders

  • Follow engineering best practices and contribute to code reviews

  • Support DevOps tasks related to data services and deployments

  • Build and maintain monitoring systems

  • Optimize and automate data architecture and data structure for speed and cost efficiency 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) and data tools (S3, Lambda, Glue)

  • Working familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Snowflake, or similar)

  • Experience in CI/CD practices and container tools like Docker

  • Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively across functions

  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to grow in a fast-paced environment

  • A gamer mindset: curious, creative, and passionate about the craft

  • Demonstrate professionalism and collaborative communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar)

  • Hands-on exposure to telemetry or analytics pipelines in games

  • Understanding of agile workflows or sprint planning

  • Comfort working with APIs and third-party SDKs

  • Familiarity with ML and AI based data toolsets
